Gumbuya Dreaming is a spectacular digital light experience created and produced by Yarnology, an Indigenous multimedia, event and entertainment company, led by acclaimed Indigenous artist Wayne Quilliam. With a portfolio that spans the globe, including recent groundbreaking work as the creative director of Connection, the Indigenous art projection experience at Lume Melbourne and the current Badu Gili Projection Show on the Sydney Opera House Sails.

Gumbuya Gathering
Step into an immersive celebration of Aboriginal culture, beginning with a vibrant Smoking Ceremony at the Entrance. Journey through the Plaza’s shifting colours and into the Gumbuya Gathering Zone, where a smokey sculpture surrounded by dynamic lighting awaits, inviting reflection and connection. Finally, wander into the Dreaming Field, where flowers shimmer amidst the surrounding trees.
Fire & Water
Explore the 'Fire & Water' zones, where dynamic lasers guide you along the Water/Fire River. Pause at the scenic Billabong and the Hairyman trees transformed in a kaleidoscope of colours. Continue to the captivating Fire Dance performance of fiery movements, echoing the traditions of storytelling. Conclude your journey at Emu Promises, where visitors float their own written notes in illuminated emu eggs down the Lazy River, a symbol of renewal and connection to the land.
Land & Animals
In the 'Land & Animals' zones, the wonders of nature intertwine with First Nations’ stories. Discover the Talking Trees, a mesmerising display of smoke, mirrors and sounds. Head deeper into the Cave of Smoke for an entrancement of melodies and swirling mists. Stop at the Bogong Moth Story where toadstools illuminate the path. Toward the end, find serenity in the Dream Forest, offering a captivating immersion into culture and nature.

Gumbuya Dreaming is situated at Gumbuya World Theme Park which is directly off the M1 around 50 minutes from Melbourne CBD & about 7 minutes past Pakenham. The best way to get to Gumbuya World is via car.
This is an outdoor event in Winter so please come prepared for all elements. Umbrellas are allowed but we do ask that you exercise caution with other guests.
We anticipate the experience should take between 60-90 minutes. Our roller coasters, theme park rides & food trucks will be running from 3.30pm - 8pm with the experience commencing at nightfall (approximately 6pm).
External food and beverages are not permitted. Fruit, water and baby food are the only permitted items.
Gumbuya World has two on-site cafes which will be running from 3.30pm - the conclusion of the event at 8pm and is a fully licensed venue for those over 18+. There will also be food trucks on site and food will cater for a variety of dietary options including gluten free, dairy free & vegan. For multiple dietaries we recommend to email info@gumbuya.com.au to confirm what options are available.
All public walking areas of the park are wheelchair accessible. Some assistance may be needed on limited sections of a very small number of paths. Three wheelchairs are available for complimentary use by guests attending Gumbuya World. Please speak to a member of our Guest Services team on arrival to arrange for the use of a wheelchair.

There is so much to do and see at Gumbuya World, Victoria’s newest and only water, wildlife and theme park. We have four worlds of fun and adventure: our water park Oasis Springs, our new theme park Oz Adventure, our new kids’ area Outback Explorers, and our new animal area the Wildlife Trail.
Tickets are available for purchase at the park gate. From time to time we may reach our visitor capacity, so we recommend you book your day in advance online.
Yes, you can change the date of your booking however we will need to know 72 hours before the intended date of attending the park, the new visit date must be within 2 weeks of original visit date. Please email info@gumbuya.com.au with your current ticket date and the requested date change.
There is an additional cost for our special Animal Experiences, our Surfs Up surfing water ride, and for Cabana bookings. Surfs Up is $25 per person, unlimited between 11am – 3pm. Bookings can be made at the ice-cream stand adjacent to the ride between 10am to 5pm.
There are discounted prices for children and seniors.
All Gumbuya guests will be given a wristband, valid on the day of their entry, which will allow them to leave and re-enter the park on that day.
